About Phakamani

Meet Nick. CEO, Founder. He’s the guy who took Anglo Zimele from 20 to 500 loan transactions a year. He’s personally overseen R1.5bn of SME investment in South Africa’s mining communities, small towns and rural areas. After leaving Anglo Zimele in 2012, he founded Phakamani.

Nick has a passion for supporting real businesses and the people who run them. And he’s not a starry-eyed idealist. After more than 20 years in small business lending, he’ll tell you in 5 minutes whether a business idea or deal is going to work.

He’s the guy you want running your enterprise development or supplier development programme. He’s not going to spin you a story, or wow you with a glossy PowerPoint deck. He’s the guy who’ll run a programme for you that’s anchored in reality – grounded in a keen understanding of how entrepreneurs behave and how business should be done.

He’s the guy who’ll actually disburse your loan capital, and get it back. And he’ll make sure your programme ticks all the right boxes, and make you look good.

Of course, he’s not a one man show. Nick’s team has been through the school of hard knocks, and have over 80 years combined experience in developing and financing small businesses in South Africa.

And standing behind his team is a winning combination of two, leading South African firms.

Phakamani is a level 2 B-BBEE contributor.

A winning combination
